Vikram Rathour’s Surprising Confession About Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

As the IPL 2026 season continues, almost every bowler is searching for a way to stop the sensational Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals opener has been smashing bowlers for fun, and nobody seems to have a proper answer against the teenager.

The Challenge of Bowling to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

Even experienced international bowlers have struggled badly against the wonder kid from Bihar. After Rajasthan Royals defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2026 Eliminator and moved into Qualifier 2, England fast bowler Jofra Archer was asked an interesting question during a post-match chat. The RR fast bowler was asked where exactly he bowls to Vaibhav during practice sessions.

Archer laughed and avoided giving a direct answer, saying he would talk about it only after the tournament gets over. His reply made everyone smile, but it also showed how dangerous the young batter has been throughout the tournament.

Vikram Rathour’s Claim

However, there is one person in the Rajasthan Royals setup who claims to have found a way to get Vaibhav out regularly in practice sessions – their batting coach, Vikram Rathour. Rathour said that he is probably the only man in the camp who dismisses Vaibhav often in practice.

When asked by Sunil Gavaskar during a live broadcast if anyone in the team could actually stop the teenager while batting, Rathour smiled and said that he gets him out with sidearm throwdowns in the nets quite regularly. But the coach did not reveal his secret, keeping everyone guessing and refusing to explain how exactly he troubles the youngster during practice.

Rathour admitted that coaching Vaibhav is not very complicated because the teenager is batting in an unbelievable rhythm. The experienced coach explained that when a batter is in such great touch, sometimes the best thing for a coach is to simply stay quiet and let the player enjoy himself.

Vaibhav’s Biggest Strength

Rathour believes Vaibhav’s biggest strength is his mindset. The youngster is not scared of any bowler and keeps looking for scoring opportunities all the time. He also works very hard behind the scenes and quickly learns from every situation.

Rathour feels that whenever teams try a new plan against him, Vaibhav adjusts very quickly and finds another way to attack, and that’s why bowlers have struggled to stop him this season. The coach added that Vaibhav’s ability to work on his game and think his cricket well is a big strength, and he has responded brilliantly to everything he’s been through so far.
