CSK Sign Macneil Noronha as Replacement for Injured Ramakrishna Ghosh

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have added Karnataka allrounder Macneil Noronha to their IPL 2026 squad as a replacement for the injured Ramakrishna Ghosh. Noronha will join CSK for his base price of INR 30 lakh.

Noronha was recently awarded the MA Chidambaram Trophy at the annual Naman Awards, organised by the BCCI, for being the highest run-getter in the 2024-25 Col CK Nayudu Trophy. Noronha was a key part of the Mangaluru Dragons side that lifted the Maharaja Trophy in 2025, scoring 253 runs in ten innings and picking up ten wickets with his offspin. He also represented Karnataka in three T20s during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, scoring 58 runs and managing a wicket.

CSK’s Injury Woes Continue

CSK selected Noronha after Ghosh fractured his foot on IPL debut against Mumbai Indians on May 2. He picked up 1 for 24 in the only game he played in the tournament. The team has struggled with injuries all season, losing Ayush Mhatre, Nathan Ellis and Khaleel Ahmed through the competition. They have also been without MS Dhoni so far in the season, with the former captain down with a calf strain.

CSK are currently fifth on the points table with 12 points in 11 games. Their next fixture is against Lucknow Super Giants [LSG] on Friday. With the addition of Noronha, the team will be looking to strengthen their squad and make a push for the playoffs.
