IPL 2026: Prince Yadav Gets the Better of Virat Kohli

Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler Prince Yadav bowled a remarkable delivery to dismiss Virat Kohli, who failed to open his account. The 140 kmph delivery nipped in, and the RCB opener was unable to bring his bat on time, resulting in a clean bowled.

Kohli was left stunned and couldn’t believe what had just happened to him before leaving the field. On the other hand, Prince was jubilant and celebrated the prized scalp with his teammates. Virat, who generally provides flying starts to the defending champions, was unable to make full use of the good batting conditions at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.

Years ago, Bhuvi took wicket of his hero Sachin Tendulkar. Tonight, Prince Yadav took wicket of his hero Virat Kohli. Hopefully, Prince gets to play for India very soon. Kohli’s Recent Form

The 37-year-old is nearing the 400-run mark in the ongoing 19th season of the tournament, and the team was hoping for another impactful contribution from the legendary batter in a 213-run chase in an away game. Virat Kohli’s duck against Lucknow was his first in the IPL after 46 innings. The last instance was in 2023 when he returned to the dressing room without troubling the scorers against the Rajasthan Royals in Bengaluru.

This is also his first duck in an IPL chase since 2017 against the Kolkata Knight Riders, when RCB were bundled out for 49. Kohli recently completed 9,000 runs in the history of the IPL and has amassed 379 runs in 10 games so far. He has recorded an average of 47.37 and a strike rate of 164.06, including three fifties in IPL 2026.

LSG’s Bowling Performance

The black soil pitch in Lucknow has got something for the seamers with the new ball, and the LSG speedsters Mohammed Shami and Prince made their presence felt. The veteran bowler got rid of Jacob Bethell (4) before Prince struck in the second over in the second innings. Yadav has taken 14 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 20.28 and an economy of 8.11.

The RCB fans went quiet after their team lost two early wickets against opponents, who haven’t been at their best.
