Bahutule is currently serving as the spin bowling coach for the Punjab Kings, where he has been instrumental in honing the skills of Yuzvendra Chahal and Harpreet Brar. According to recent reports, Bahutule has engaged in productive discussions with senior BCCI officials and head coach Gautam Gambhir. Sairaj Bahutule’s pedigree in Indian cricket is substantial. A stalwart of the domestic circuit, he participated in 343 matches, including 188 First-Class, 143 List-A, and 12 T20 fixtures. Representing Mumbai, Maharashtra, and Assam, he amassed an impressive 837 wickets throughout his playing career. Beyond his bowling, he was a more than capable lower-order batter, contributing 6,176 First-Class runs, including nine centuries and 26 half-centuries.

While his international career spanned 10 matches—two Tests and eight ODIs—it is his extensive post-playing experience that makes him a standout candidate for coaching. He has previously served as the bowling coach for the India-A side during their 2021 tour of South Africa and spent four years as a bowling coach at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. His resume also includes coaching stints with the Rajasthan Royals and various state teams like Kerala, Bengal, and Gujarat.
