The inclusion of Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Amite Hasan in the squad for the Dhaka Test against Pakistan is not merely a routine rotation; it is a calculated step toward a more dynamic style of play.

He emphasized that the team’s ability to take 20 wickets in a Test match remains a cornerstone of their strategy, but it is the batting department that requires a shift in mindset. “If our batting can become more consistent, Bangladesh can do well in the Test Championship. I am not saying ‘Bazball,’ but our style may change. We may move towards a more aggressive style.”

Patience and Natural Game

With seasoned openers like Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Shadman Islam already in the mix, Tanzid Hasan may have to bide his time. “A player should play according to his natural game,” Bashar stated. “The two openers we already have each have their own style. I do not want them to move away from that, because then the chance of success becomes lower. I will not ask Shadman to bat like Tanzid, and I will not ask Tanzid to bat like Shadman.”
