Reflecting on his journey, he remarked: “I’m playing the IPL and domestic cricket because I love the game. When you’re young and playing for India, you say you love the game. But honestly, things like ‘control the controllables’, ‘don’t overthink’, or ‘playing for the passion of the game’ – I can actually feel those things now.”

Acceptance and Achievement

Bhuvneshwar has enjoyed a distinguished international career, having represented India in 21 Tests, 121 ODIs, and 87 T20Is. He played an instrumental role in numerous historic victories and established himself as one of the finest exponents of swing bowling in the modern era. Because he has already fulfilled his childhood dream of playing for his country, he feels no internal pressure to force a comeback.

“I’ve already played for India. That’s not something I have to achieve now. If I get another opportunity, that’s great, but I’ve been there. Everything I’m doing now is because of my love for the game,” he added.

While his international career saw a pause after his last appearance in 2022, his domestic form remains impeccable. Bhuvneshwar has stayed highly active, participating in the UP T20 League and proving his worth in the IPL. His contribution to the game was highlighted during the IPL 2026 season, where he was a key figure in the RCB title-winning campaign, claiming an impressive 28 wickets in just 16 matches.
