Another spring has passed in the life of Mushfiqur Rahim. The veteran cricketer has now turned 40, yet he continues to shine in international cricket with the same passion and determination.

Although he has stepped away from limited-overs cricket, Mushfiqur remains one of Bangladesh’s most dependable players in Test cricket. And with the ongoing Test series against Pakistan, his birthday became even more special for everyone around the team.

Celebrations in Mirpur

Early in the morning, people at the ground celebrated his birthday by cutting a cake and showering him with love and warm wishes. After the second day’s play in Mirpur, Mushfiqur was surrounded by teammates and also received a heartfelt celebration arranged by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

A cricket-themed cake, laughter, smiles, and family by his side – it turned into a memorable occasion. His father, mother, wife, and children were all there to celebrate the special day with him.

Mushfiqur became emotional after receiving so much love from everyone. Returning to the team hotel, he shared a heartfelt message expressing gratitude to all who wished him. “I am overwhelmed by the amount of love I received on my birthday today. Thank you to everyone who sent me wishes and showed me so much affection,” Mushfiqur wrote.

He also made it clear how deeply touched he was by the support. “I cannot truly express your love in words. I am grateful for the way you have always supported me,” he added.

The legendary cricketer thanked everyone once again and hoped for more beautiful memories in the coming year. “With your prayers and support, I hope to spend another wonderful year filled with great memories, Insha’Allah. Thank you again for being part of this journey,” he wrote.

A Fighting Innings in the Dhaka Test

Mushfiqur also marked his 40th birthday with a fighting innings in the Dhaka Test. He scored 71 runs from 179 balls, registering the 29th half-century of his Test career and the 84th fifty in international cricket.
